Simon Briton

I’m a tax qualified solicitor and a partner of Quantum Law LLP, a Newcastle based law firm focusing on technology businesses and tax law.  I trained in London with big international firms of lawyers and accountancy before coming back North in 2004.  I am also the founder of Quantify R&D, an innovation consultancy which helps businesses claim government funding for research and development work. Through that, I’ve developed a strong interest in emerging technologies, design thinking and user experience.

My two sons are both at school in Sunderland and my wife is heavily involved in the NCT charity.  I’ve been a trustee with Grace House since 2014 and a governor of a local primary school since 2006.  I’m really gripped by the clear purpose and vision of Grace House and I’m delighted to be able to play a part in delivering on that.

When all of that isn’t keeping me busy I’m massively keen on cycling and the arts.
