June Robinson

Sustainability Officer

I have worked in the community and voluntary sector for more than twenty-five years and am passionate about the significant contribution the sector makes within the City and to the lives of people, especially those who may have particular needs and support. I qualified with a degree in Sociology and English in 1996 and shortly after that spent time a considerable number of years setting up and working in a former college building to support people into education, training and employment and providing support to enable people to do this. We did this through an enterprise approach by setting up a childcare project for example. Following redundancy from that project I began doing some consultancy work in the charitable and voluntary sector, supporting organisations with fundraising, organisational strategy development and change. While doing this I also worked part time for another voluntary organisation in the Coalfields area as an Enterprise & Volunteer Manager supporting their wonderful group of volunteers and their community enterprise developments.  I am now delighted to be back on the Northside of Sunderland and working at Grace House on the Wellness Works project with two other colleagues based with the partner organisation at HOPS. My role is as Sustainability Officer to support the project and the two charities with funding from trusts and foundations that will enable the organisations to grow and be more sustainable.
