A Song for Grace

At Durham Cathedral

Friday 21st November 6.30pm

As part of Grace House’s ‘celebration of life’ season you are invited to this special service in the historic setting of Durham Cathedral. The service will feature ‘A Song for Grace’, composed and performed for the Hospice Appeal by Alice Leaver, a pupil at Durham School.

The 30-minute service will feature a presentation on ‘Grace’ by pupils of Durham School, and we will celebrate the life of our children and young people.  As we focus on improving the quality of life for hundreds of families in our region, we hope that the service will raise the profile of the Grace House Hospice Appeal.

There are no tickets or reserved seats for this event, which is open to all; doors open at 6.00pm.  There is very little parking close to the Cathedral; please respect the needs of those who use wheelchairs (for whom this parking will be reserved) and use the city centre carparks.

What is the Grace House North East Children’s Hospice Appeal?

The Grace House North East Children’s Hospice Appeal is raising funds to build, equip and run an eight bed children’s hospice for children across the North East.

Over 1,200 families in our region require hospice care and Grace House will provide a home from home, loving environment where children and their families may turn to for support.

Why do we need your help?

At present the government does not provide long term funding for children’s hospices and this means that charities like ours rely on the goodwill of dedicated fundraising teams and the generosity of the public.

Children’s hospice services are provided free to children and families. Each service is a charity that relies on donations and fundraising by the general public, companies and organisations.

Grace House will provide a range of professional support including practical help, nursing care and bereavement support to life-limited children and their families 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
