Friends Groups
As Grace House North East is a registered charity we rely on the generosity of the general public to raise funds to build the hospice. By forming a Friends Group you will be offering your support to our appeal, by raising awareness, funds and to act as a focus in the area for fundraising activities.
Getting Started
If you are thinking about starting a friends group we would be delighted to offer you help and assistance. We have a variety of printed material in the office that will guide you through the steps you need to follow while you are forming your group. All we need from you is a little bit of your time and effort and the ability to promote the many ways that fundraising is available.
What does a Friends Group do?
A Friends Group carries out a variety of activities including:-
Talking about the appeal to local groups and continue to raise awareness of the charity.
Organising a sponsored event.
Raising funds through Coffee/Lunch/Dinner Parties/discos etc.
It would also be useful for Friends Groups to identify areas where you have known contacts who may be interested in supporting our appeal.
Representing Grace House North East Children’s Hospice Appeal by collecting cheques on our behalf from groups such as guides, schools, brownies and other groups that continue to offer their support to the appeal.
