Celebration of Life - Balloon Release
24 November 2015
Join us on Friday 11th December for the Grace House Celebration of Life balloon release at Ashbrooke Rugby Club. Our balloon release is a beautiful way to celebrate the lives of your loved ones and enjoy a special family evening together.
We warmly invite you to our Celebration of Life on Friday 11th December at Sunderland Rugby Club, West Lawn, Ashbrooke, SR2 7HH.
Our first Celebration of Life was 10 years ago at the Minister in Sunderland. This year, 11th December 2015 is a poignant date at Grace House as it marks a year to the day since our Senior Fundraiser, Karen Maclennan lost her son, Jamie, to epilepsy. Hosting the event at Ashbrooke Rugby Club also has great significance as Jamie played rugby there.
We are inviting supporters to dedicate a Christmas twinkling balloon to celebrate the life and love of someone dear to you. Then join us and see it released into the night sky. Whether it is in memory of loved ones passed, or to recognise family, friends and loved ones still with us, this is a fantastic opportunity to dedicate a balloon to someone close to you and celebrate their achievements.
There is no minimum donation – all we ask is that you be as generous as you can. All donations come to Grace House to support families with children living with complex and life limiting disabilities.
Our Celebration of Life will start at 6pm. Join us to sing Christmas carols outside before the twinkling balloons are released at 6:30pm.
Make an evening of it and enjoy food and refreshments that will be available to purchase from the Rugby Club.
Please complete the form below to register for your balloon and if you’d like to dedicate more balloons, simply include more names on your form.
For further information about the balloon release or if you require help to complete the form, please call 0191 525 2885.
We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating the lives of your loved ones.
*For Health & Safety reasons, all balloons will be held in a secure safety net prior to the launch. As the release has to be synchronized with local air traffic, it is not possible for all balloons to be released individually.back to the news
