A Little Update
21 July 2015
It's been all hands on deck for the last few weeks as we have been working hard to get the final touches perfected before our first guests arrive. With the imminent arrival of Ofsted to inspect Grace House and to evaluate the quality of the service we plan to offer, we've been busy with last minute preparations. We have also thrown open the doors to visitors, giving them the chance to see the building ready for use.
It’s been a long time coming but we’re nearly there; we’re so proud of what we’ve managed to create and it couldn’t have been done without the help and support of so many kind and generous volunteers and fundraisers; which we’re so thankful for.
Here’s a snapshot of the wonderful activities from the last few weeks
Deliveries galore with specialist equipment and furniture for bedrooms, the den, library and music room.
Our fairy godmother, Christine from Excel Refrigeration and Catering delivered cooking equipment along with lots of freebies! Christine also personally donated a fabulous ‘Frozen’ duvet cover for our pink bedroom and worked with her suppliers to donate a microwave, toaster and kettle too.
The first delivery from our John Lewis gift list has arrived with wonderful items to perfectly finish bedrooms and the library. We’re particularly fond of the Roald Dahl cushions!
Not forgetting our branded vehicle, kindly supported by Town Centre Citroen. This car will enable us to increase our fundraising efforts and help Grace House get out and about more to raise the awareness of the fantastic facilities available.
We listened. We Delivered
Following a visit by a lovely young lady last week; she mentioned she would love a Minions duvet if she came to stay at Grace House. Our staff went straight out and bought a Minions duvet and she was thrilled when she came back to Grace House to see it. We really listen to our visitors and make every effort to accommodate their needs and surprise where we can!
We finally received planning permission for our signage and thanks to the fantastic Connor and Jimmy from Simply Stripes; we have our sign hanging proudly above our entrance.back to the news
